On September 11, 2016, Curtis and Jeanna Wellbrock experienced every parent’s worst nightmare when their three-year-old son, Matthew, was critically injured in a tragic accident. In the midst of fear and uncertainty, the Wellbrocks were met with overwhelming kindness—prayers, support, and even basic necessities like toothbrushes and diapers for their other children—allowing them to focus on what mattered most: being there for Matthew.
Today, Matthew’s Gift continues that legacy of love by providing care bags for families facing emergency medical situations far from home. In partnership with HaysMed, Women Who Lead provides these thoughtfully packed comfort totes to offer reassurance that they are not alone. Each tote provides essentials like a $50 gas card, a blanket, snacks, bottled waters, a notepad and pen for important information, a deck of cards, and word puzzles. We proudly provide around 50 totes every quarter. We are currently seeking sponsors to help us continue this mission.
Each tote costs $85 to assemble and deliver, and there are several sponsorship levels available:
- One Tote – $85
- Three Totes – $250
- Five Totes – $425
- Ten Totes – $850
- Sponsorship – $1,000+
Every tote sponsor’s name will be honored on a well wishes tag included in each bag—a visible reminder to each family that they are surrounded by a caring community. If you commit to an $1,000+ sponsorship, your name will be listed on the Matthew’s gift brochure inside each bag.
Your support will help carry forward Matthew’s legacy of compassion, kindness, and service to others. If you would like to make a donation, please complete the form below.
